You may be wondering why this competition is called The Doris Green Predict the Score Competition?It is named after Doris Green who won the first ever competition in 2012-13 season at the marvellous age of 96.Doris by her own admittance did not know much about the modern game, and would reel her weekly scores off to my wife Karen (Doris was Karen's Nanna) with very little pause for thought to each fixture.When she ended up winning the competition, I am sure many of those who took more interest in football, were astonished that someone of 96 could beat them !
Well Done Doris !Sadly Doris passed away during the 2013-14 season, so the competition was renamed in memory of Doris, the competitions first ever winner.A wonderful woman who is sadly missed.Doris Green 1916 - 2013

Highest Weekly Points Competition
Once again we will operate a highest weekly points competition with the player with the highest points scored in any individual week (double points

competition winning the highest weekly points competition associated prize money.
This will be shared if more than one player finishes on same points.The Margaret Stanbridge Memorial knockout competition.
If the total amount of players is either 32 or 64 then there is no need for a qualifying Period as 64 or 32 breaks down to a final of 2 players, however if the amount of players is any other total, then during November there will be a
qualifying competition, with the 64 or 32 players who score the highest total amount of points during November going through to the knockout competition which starts in January 2026.The winner of the Margaret Stanbridge Memorial knockout competition, will win the associated prize money.
The runner up will receive the associated prize money.
How the Margaret Stanbridge Memorial knockout competition works.So how does the competition work?
Well, I have used myself and my wife Karen as the two players for this very simple explanation of how this competition works.
So in the first round of the competition,
Rich Gates is drawn against Karen Gates.
1. Gates v K.Gates
So for that week, the normal competition runs as normal with R. Gates and K.Gates entering their 5 prediction scores as normal.
So in that week once all five prediction results are known,
1. Gates scores a total points for that week of 4 points.
However K.Gates for that same week scores 12 points.
Therefore the result of the fixture of R.Gates v K.Gates would be as follows;
R.Gates 4 v 12 K.Gates,
with K.Gates progressing to the next round, and R.Gates being knocked out of the cup competition.Joker Cards
We will operate the joker system again in the 2025/26 season with
each player having 3 jokers to use throughout the season.Each player will be given three joker cards that can be played any time between Week 1 and Week 40 of the competition.
Only one joker card can be played in any given week.
In the week the player decided to play their joker card, their weekly points will be doubled (however these doubled up points will not count for purposes of the Highest Weekly points Competition.
Should more than 50% of the 5 fixtures in any given week be postponed and you have played your joker that week, you will be given the choice to either keep your joker in place, or have it returned to you and therefore not have played it that week.Charity Donation
10% of each player’s entry fee will be donated to a local charity;
The charity we support as a competition is Luton FoodBank. Based on 37 players a total of £111 will be donated to Luton FoodBank.Entering
